Who this is for
TeaPlain is for English-speaking readers beginning to explore Chinese loose-leaf tea. You may have received a gift, bought a first sample, or found unfamiliar words on a packet. We organise information around your next decision: identify it, choose a way to prepare it, adjust a disappointing cup and store the opened packet.
Start with your first packet, or browse all practical guides.
What is covered now
The tea encyclopedia includes 366 individual English tea guides and nine category overviews. The entries preserve useful product descriptions and images while distinguishing source information, editorial advice and uncertain claims. English availability does not mean every tea has been tasted by TeaPlain.
Alongside the encyclopedia, the practical guides cover your first packet, buying, brewing, storage and specific cup problems. You can also learn which teaware you need, how to describe a cup and how to share tea. Read our health-information boundaries before using tea advice for a personal health decision.
How the content is made
Our guides use source research and editorial explanation, with AI assistance for drafting and development. Facts are checked against relevant original sources; research records are retained internally, and articles carry update dates. “By TeaPlain” identifies the project, not a named certified tea professional or a fictional tasting panel.
We distinguish sourced descriptions, editorial starting suggestions and any actual hands-on records. The current glass-brewing proposals have not been taste-tested by TeaPlain. Read our editorial method for the evidence and correction process.
What we do not offer
TeaPlain currently provides reading guides, not a shop, seller-verification service or tea-authentication service. We do not identify a packet’s safety or remaining shelf life from a photo. A source link is not an endorsement of the organisation or shop behind it.
There are currently no display ads or affiliate-tracked shopping links in this build. If monetisation is added, the relevant pages and privacy information will need to reflect it.
